For women who have lost a husband or partner to suicide, the days that follow can feel quiet and loud at the same time. This five-day retreat is an invitation to step away from the noise, rest in a peaceful coastal home, and sit with women who understand what this loss asks of you. We move through the days at an unhurried pace, with the ocean as a steady companion, and we make room for whatever you bring with you.
Founded by suicide widow, Andi Zemenick, The Light Within Retreats have been operating healing retreats for suicide loss survivors since 2024 providing a safe space where grief is held and hope is found.

Casa Amigos rests on the Nayarit coast near Punta Mita, behind a gated entrance that keeps the day’s noise at a distance. Inside, the home feels like a private resort: generous rooms, quiet shaded spaces for rest, and an easy flow between the pool, the gathering areas, and the ocean beyond. Everything here is designed so you can be fully private when you need to be, and fully held when you want company.
Meals are where the group comes together. Our chef prepares breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and we eat at a shared table, where conversations begin over coffee and often continue long after the plates are cleared. Many women tell us the shared meals become the place where the sisterhood is present and rooted.
Between gatherings, you can retreat to your own room, lounge in a garden hammock, read by the pool, or walk down to the beach.

The Ocean and the Practice of Surf
The ocean brings renewed hope as we “surf” our own waves of grief. Surfing is an integral part of all of our retreats, and our local beaches are widely known for its gentle waves that are perfect for beginners or more advanced surfers. We work with patient, local surf instructors who guide us to that rewarding moment of catching a wave!
Some women paddle out, some stand in the shallows, and others simply sit on the sand and watch the waves. Every version counts, and there is no wrong way to be here.
A Holistic Path Alongside Your Care
Our retreats are holistic experiences designed to move grief through the body. They draw on the ocean, the body, breath, ritual, and community to support healing in gentle, grounding ways. They are designed to complement traditional therapeutic support, not replace it, with modalities focused to regulate our nervous systems where pain and trauma are present. We are a drug- and alcohol-free event.

Hi, I’m Andi.
I am the founder of The Light Within retreats and will be your host. I’m a certified grief coach through David Kessler’s Grief Educator program. I’m also a widow. I lost my husband, Joel, to suicide in 2022, and these are the very shores where I found healing and solace in my initial years after his loss. I bring to this work the same compassion this brought to me when I needed it most, and I now am honored to share it with you.

The investment for this retreat is $2,550 per guest.
Your $500 deposit secures your space and is applied to your total. Your remaining balance is due 60 days before the retreat. If you’d like to talk through a payment plan, email andi@thelightwithin.org, and we’ll work with you to find something that fits.
Airfare and travel insurance are the responsibility of each guest. We recommend travel insurance for every traveler.
Cancellations & Changes
If you need to cancel more than 60 days before the retreat, you’ll receive a 50% refund of the amount you’ve paid. If we are unable to reach our minimum of four guests, every dollar you’ve paid will be refunded. We may need to change the location or dates because of weather, safety, guest numbers, or circumstances beyond our control. We will tell you as soon as possible. If a change makes it impossible for you to attend, you may transfer your registration or request a full refund.
